Dear
TibetanAid
Foundation:
My
name is Lhimo Dolma, and I am 15 years old. I am from AnChok village
of ChaZhu valley. My parents had married when they were very young,
but their marriage did last after I was born. They separated when
I was little baby, and I was raised by my grandparents, my mom's
parents. Because, my father left us and my mom remarried in another
village, so she could not take care of me. However, I am very
thankful that I have wonderful grandparents who take good care
of me.
My
grandparents sent me to school when I was age of 7. I was very
excited to go to school, as there were a lot of kids like my age
and I could play with them at all times. Also, I have enjoyed
reading stories and writing stories of how wonderful if I had
a parents.
At
the age of 14, I graduated from Elementary School in ChaZhu Valley
and admitted in Junior High School in HauLong National High School,
25 miles from my home. On one hand, I felt sad that I had to leave
my grandparents and boarding in the school, but on other hand
I was happy that I was going to get a better education and I was
going to be educated. Recently, I found out that my grandparents
have any money to continue my education after I graduate from
Junior High. Because, my parents do not support me or grandparents,
I am like a orphan who takes care by her grandparents, and grandparents
are getting old and they are not able to earn any income to support
our family. I feel very sad, not just for my poor grandparents,
but also I will lose the opportunity to continue my education.
In
July this year (2007), our village leader asked me to write this
letter to ask the TibetanAid Foundation for their assistance,
as Dorjee Tsewang, from the TibetanAid Foundation is visiting
ChaZhu Valley and they opened the beautiful clinic right across
our village. Therefore, I would like to request Dorjee and other
members of the TibetanAid Foundation to find me a sponsor, who
can become good friend and also support my education. I promise
that I continue to study hard and be a good girl to get a better
education with my sponsor's generous help.
Tashi
Delek and thank you.
